James S. Turner, Attorney and Health Industry Advocate, Dies at 81
“Jim was a force to be reckoned with in the health freedom community for over half a century,” Michael McGuffin, president of the American Herbal Products Association, said. “He would commonly greet me by asking, ‘Are we winning?’ and it is certain that all who care about freedom of choice in healthcare have won a lot over the years through Jim’s leadership and wisdom, and his advocacy for activism and cooperation.”

With a deep saddened heart I wish to announce the death of Attorney James Turner.
I’ve worked with him for years. He was a famous consumer attorney who wrote the Chemical Feast and was a Nader Raider. The most important thing I believe he did in life was work with Dr. John Olney who founded the field of neuroscience called excitotoxicity trying to prevent the approval of aspartame. The aspartame industry is so powerful that some published articles on his death may leave this out. Dr. Russell Blaylock wrote the book on aspartame and MSG called “Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills”.
There are many powerful books on aspartame from “Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic” by H. J. Roberts, M.D., “While Science Sleeps: A Sweetener Kills by Dr. Woodrow Monte and the latest by Dr. Ralph Walton, “Double Blind: Science, Corruption & the Diseases of Civilization”. Even victims wrote books like “Aspartame: The King of Toxins” by Reigh Parker-Burch. When I testified for Proposition 65 on aspartame and changed the vote in 2014 nothing has happened since because when industry knows its lost it postpones for years. I used the book of a victim where she showed the tumors in her study were so large on aspartame the rats used them for pillows!

A few months ago Jim called and said “I can file against the FDA on the aspartame issue and I want you to send me copies of all the dealings you have had with them. We have to get it off the market.” I didn’t know at the time he was ill and I think it was probably the last thing he wanted to do in life, remove this addictive excitoneurotoxic, genetically engineered, carcinogenic, teratogenic drug that damages the mitochondria and even interacts with drugs and vaccines.

What Jim was talking about when he asked for FDA records is my communications and their lack of response on the issue and refusal under law to cooperate. I asked the FDA under Freedom of Information, for example, to answer 26 questions on aspartame decades ago and they refused. I went to see Newt Gingrich personally when he was Speaker of the House and asked him how you make the FDA respond under the law. He used an Aide to work with me but even he could not get the FDA to cooperate under the law. They simply said no.
I filed a petition to ban that is suppose to be answered in 180 days back around 2000. They never answered. Then in 2014 a legal organization asked for the answer and they sent the letter of denial to them and they published it on the Internet. Dr. Ken Stoller also had filed and never received an answer, and they published his. Why they never responded to us is they knew we would appeal their misinformation. Then when I filed again they had the audacity to tell me I couldn’t say anything that happened before 2001. The reason for that was they knew I would quote the FDA themselves admitting it was on the market illegally. FDA scientist Dr. Adrian Gross admitted to the Senate in 1985 aspartame violated the Delaney Amendment because it caused brain cancer and brain tumors and you couldn’t even set an allowable daily intake. His last words echo through the decades “And if the FDA violates its own laws who is left to protect the public?”

Jim Turner was ready to fiercely go against the FDA for their inaction.

With his last breath James Turner wanted to make the FDA, the Fatal Drug Allowed folks (directed by Big Pharma) do their job and remove aspartame from the market. Some doctors have said its probably killed as many as 300 million people worldwide. Now we have the vaxx which is not a vaccine but a nano bioweapon patented 22 years ago for depopulation. The combination of these two poisons is lethal and their symptoms and diseases identical. They are both systemic poisons and both damage the mitochondria.
I remember the day I mailed the package to Jim Turner. Stephen Fox, Mission Possible New Mexico, was so thrilled he said “Here let me pay the postage, this is an exciting day. We’re finally going to do it!!!” Dr. Ralph Walton when he wrote the last book said to me, “I do not want profit for this medical text. I’m putting it on www.amazon.com for $5.00. So here is a salute to James Turner, a great man, who has spent decades trying to remove this killer from the market. A moment of silence and pass it on. I could list many of his accomplishments but this is what he should be remembered for. As we continue to fight we will never forget this grand hero.

Turner was known in the industry for the advocacy role he played as the founder and chairman of Citizens for Health since 1992, a nonprofit organization which represented the interests of health and wellness consumers and the industry in a variety of regulatory matters concerning foods, drugs, health, environmental issues, and product safety. Among other key issues, the organization focuses on advocating for organic foods free of pesticides and GMOs, the removal of toxic chemicals from bottles, cans, and children’s toys, expanding access to dietary supplements, acupuncture, naturopathy, and more.
Turner also served as special counsel to the Senate Select Committee on food, nutrition, and health, and to the Senate Government Operations Subcommittee on government research. From 1994 to 1996, Turner was the lead attorney in a successful petition to FDA to have acupuncture needles reclassified to allow their importation and use by acupuncturists.
As an author, Turner published The Chemical Feast at the age of 30, which called attention to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s handling and regulation of food additives. The book relied upon investigations and raids conducted by Ralph Nader’s Study Groups of 1969 which made public the agency’s workings under Turner’s direction.
For the last decade and longer, Turner was focused on advocating for political unity, with books such as Voice of the People: The Transpartisan Imperative in American Life, which he co-authored in 2008 as a call to addressing shared interests of American Citizens.
