Dr Betty Martini: The Passing of Another Great Lady, A True Heroine

Betty, aspartame lecture, Radbrook Hotel Shrewsbury, England 2002

Dr. Betty Martini was unique, a heroine in her lifetime. There will be no national statue or museum sponsored by the US Government or the World Health organisation to dear Betty, who fought to stop the unaware public from being poisoned by a drug sanctioned by their government and allowed in the food supply, disguised as a sweetener, or E951.
The sleeping world owes her a great debt, having initially single-handedly, spread the truth of the drug marketed as a sweetener called aspartame (E951). Betty and her devoted husband, Don, answered the telephone 24/7 until her untimely death on the 14th February, at her home in Deluth, Georgia.

It is with a heavy heart that we write this tribute to another very special person, one of a kind, just like Charlotte Iserbyt, Joan Veon and Judith Reisman: Betty was a delight, very intelligent, kind, selfless and a fearless heroine. Betty devoted the latter part of her life to exposing the truth about the poison marketed as a sweetener, (E951) known as aspartame and in doing so her journey brought her to England. We became good friends; we travelled with her and helped co-ordinate her lectures from the south of England to Scotland.  On one occasion when she flew into Gatwick Airport to meet us, immigration officials stopped her, met her off the plane, they tried to prevent her entering the country and questioned her retaining her for several hours, The Doctor whom the officials called in to check that she was medically fit to be questioned, happened a diabetic. Betty ended up lecturing that doctor who then said to immigration “let her go”!
We wrote about this episode in our magazine and how Monsanto, the manufacturer of aspartame, sent a spy to record her speaking in Shrewsbury! Betty, although astonished, she laughed at their attempt to frighten her, and in her usual style, she made fun of them by writing about them on the internet.

Betty was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Humanities degree for the work she had devoted so much of her life to, exposing aspartame and other substances.

Betty was highly intelligent, a marvel, fearless, charismatic, humorous, a beautiful kind person, a loyal friend. We have numerous lovely memories of our time together and the stories she shared of her extraordinary life and privileged upbringing with an inspirational, kind mother, who did much to help other people.

Betty was a campaigner extraordinaire, as described by Dr H.J Roberts (deceased), author of Aspartame Disease, an Ignored Epidemic http://www.sunsentpress.com  He was the world’s expert on aspartame – he called Betty a super activist when writing his tribute to her abilities and activities back in July 2007. Dr Robert’s tribute says it all:

See PROFILE OF A SUPER VOLUNTEER ACTIVIST

“I found it difficult to judge the motives for these multilateral activities by a unique personality who drew a Martini glass with bubbles alongside her signature. Moreover, Betty’s engaging next-door-neighbor behavior, coupled with a delightful Southern accent, captivated members of the media to a degree I had never observed…” Dr H.J. Roberts MD.

We, at Namaste Publishing (UK) first heard of Betty when an email arrived in our mailbox having circulated the internet, it was from someone calling themselves Nancy Markle. Betty spoke at the  “World Environmental Conference” and a person calling themselves Nancy Markle wrote an email as if they were Betty and put her contact details in the email. Following that, Betty received over 40,000 emails from people all over the world, many sufferers who did not know the cause of their illness was related directly to the consumption of aspartame. The large volume of emails crashed Betty’s computer.

Nancy Markle did a great service to humanity. That person has never been identified! See https://www.holisticmed.com/aspartame/markle.html

ONCE AGAIN – BLOCKED AND SILENCED BY GUESS WHO?
The BBC!

Right:

Betty was due to be interviewed at Shropshire BBC Radio. Disappointedly, but not surprised, when we arrived, we were informed by the staff that the interview would not be going ahead. NO explanation was offered. They refused to say why.

We have lived many lives, and we will be forever grateful to have crossed paths once again with Betty. We immediately recognised her noble spirit and were deeply inspired by the depth and vast array of her knowledge. Over the past 25 years, we met Betty only three times. She stayed in our home twice in England, we travelled with her motoring around in our car so that she could give lectures from the south of England to the north of Scotland., what fun we had. Betty holds a special place in our hearts. She was a beautiful, humble kind soul and although her time on Earth has now come to an end, the seeds of her wisdom planted in the lives of her family, friends and all who read her work, will forever live on.
We feel privileged to have known her; she touched us deeply, inspiring us with her courageous spirit, an example of what it means to stand for truth, to be fearless, selfless and always in the pursuit of the truth for the greater good of all.

Our heartfelt thoughts and sympathy go to her family. Farewell dear Betty may your spirit soar to ever greater adventures and new heights, we trust that in the journey of our souls, our paths will meet up somewhere along the lines of time, and we shall see you again. We will miss you greatly.

With love and gratitude for all your work, love and friendship, your A-Team and friends in the UK at Namaste Publishing.

Other tributes:

Dear, dear Betty – an inspiration for us all – she once told me “First have no fear”.
