(UK) Bring Drivers to Their Knees

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has today issued a consultation paper on proposed changes to its driving licence fees hich will apply to drivers in the UK, Northern Ireland exempt, from April 2013.

As part of changes being implemented by the Third European Directive on Driving Licences, vocational driving licences for jobs such as a bus and lorry drivers, will need to be updated more frequently.

In order to comply with the Third Directive, the DVLA has established a project, called EU3D, to deliver changes to its systems and business processes, which it said will cost £19.6million to implement.

The DVLA is encouraging customers and stakeholders to give their opinions on the paper. Anyone wishing to comment must do so by 14 August 2012. Our partners and stakeholders are police forces, magistrates and civil courts, motor trade associations etc.
