State exam asks N.J. 3rd graders to write essay on secret they had kept.

This type of questionnaire has been in use since 1973 or earlier when my son brought home the ditto sheet entitled “All about Me” with a big smiley face under title.  Questionnaire contained all sorts of very personal questions about the family.  This was first piece of documentation I got my hands on which got me going.

No wonder countty (including Europe) is in so much trouble.

At least 40 years of children and teachers having to divulge their most personal thoughts, beliefs, etc.  Maybe that is one of reasons average American has that blank stare when confronted with the truth.  I’m no psychologist, but could it be possible that after having to divulge so much stuff over the years one just “turns off” and shuts up like a clam when required to face reality.
