“Ministers launch PR drive to shake off ‘Frankenstein food’ image of GM crops, Environment Secretary Owen Paterson says the government ‘must not be afraid’ of pushing genetically modified food” Daily Mail 3 January 2013
Who GAINS, is there a COMMON PURPOSE?
NB: GM food is not served in the Houses of Parliament
On 3 January 2013, Britain’s Daily Mail reported:
“A PR campaign to change the image of genetically modified food is to be launched by the government. Environment Secretary Owen Paterson wants farmers, scientists and ministers to increase the appeal of so-called Frankenstein Foods among the public.
In a speech today to the Oxford Farming Conference, Mr Paterson insists there are ‘great opportunities’ in pushing GM technology , but admitted the public need reassurance that it is safe.
Since last summer’s reshuffle, Mr Paterson has repeatedly backed GM’s role in keeping food supplies secure.
He has dismissed complaints as ‘humbug’ and claimed ‘there isn’t a single piece of meat being served [in a typical London restaurant] where a bullock hasn’t eaten some GM feed’
Owen Paterson, MP for North Shropshire, was recently reported in the Daily Mail as saying “there are ‘great opportunities’ in pushing GM technology.” For whom? Is he really so ignorant of the genetic damage being done and being caused by GM seeds/crops and the impact it will have on all living organisms, is he aware and blatantly pushing an agenda?
When Paterson became MP for North Shropshire in 1997, he took an Oath of Office whereby he swore to abide by a code of conduct, he is a civil servant and should be answerable to the people. It has been reported that he has also been ineffectual with local constituents by not offering the support he should have as in the case of Anne Greig. Anne has been attempting to reopen an investigation into the suspicious death of her brother, Robert David Greig and the sexual abuse (by her ex-husband) of her Down Syndrome daughter. It is evident by Mr Paterson’s retentive correspondence to Anne that he finds it troublesome to communicate with her over matters to do with her case. He should remember that he is a public servant and is paid very handsomely to serve all constituents and the nation as a whole.
By virtue of his Public Oath of Office, Mr Paterson gave an undertaking: “Members have a general duty to act in the interests of the Nation as a whole; and a special duty to their constituents. ” this he has breached and therefore should be held accountable to the people of these Isles. He has knowingly and recklessly pursued a plan of action to thrust genetically modified seeds/crops onto the British farming community and the entire British Nation, of which the impact and devastation of which is incalculable! It has been reported that the affects of GM foods will ultimately damage the present living human population and all future generations this includes flora and forna and, is not reversible. This is criminal at best and at worst GENOCIDE. We urge readers to become Informed, Aware and Active. Mr Paterson is guilty of abandoning his Public Duty to protect the People of this Nation and indeed the world at large.
5. “Members have a duty to uphold the law, including the general law against discrimination, and to act on all occasions in accordance with the public trust placed in them.
6. Members have a general duty to act in the interests of the nation as a whole; and a special duty to their constituents.
Holders of public office are accountable for their decisions and actions to the public and must submit themselves to whatever scrutiny is appropriate to their office.”
Who is Owen Patterson?
Owen Patterson, MP for North Shropshire since 1997
and Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since 2012 for the UK. He has “claimed the benefits of GM crops went beyond the food chain
He said the industry ‘has long been at the forefront of
innovation’ and this must continue, including backing GM.”
He was first appointed to the Shadow Cabinet of David Cameron in 2007 as Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland. Upon the formation of the Coalition Government in 2010 he was appointed to the Cabinet as Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, where he remained until being moved to DEFRA in 2012.
He joined the British Leather Company in 1979, becoming Sales Director in 1983 and Managing Director from 1993 to 1999. He was President of COTANCE, the European Tanners Confederation from 1996–1998. He was a Director of Parsons and Sons leather company in Halesowen in the 1990s. Paterson is a Freeman of the City of London and a Liveryman of the Leathersellers’ Company.
He was made a Privy Counsellor on13 May 2010.
Family of influence
Paterson married Rose Ridley, the daughter of Matthew Ridley, 4th Viscount Ridley and sister of Matt Ridley in 1980. Matt Ridley was chairman of Northern Rock from 2004 to 2007, having joined the board in 1994. His father had been chairman from 1987 to 1992 and sat on the board for 30 years.
In September 2007 Northern Rock became the first British bank since 1878 to suffer a run on its finances at the start of the credit crunch. It was forced to apply to the Bank of England for emergency liquidity funding, following problems caused by the financial crisis of 2007-2008. The failure ofthe bank eventually led to the nationalisation of Northern Rock.
Mr Paterson as a Freeman of the “City of London” and member of the secret livery guild which forms part of a powerful elite, the following chapter from Empire of the City, gives an insight into the powers held by the livery as part of the unaccountable STATE known as the “CITY.” Is it therefore not surprising to read the Daily Mail’s article of his determination to push GM Frankenstein foods (Agenda 21) into the food chain. Further, it is reported that he has negated his honourable duty as a Member of Parliament to his constituent Anne Greig in her campaign to attain justice for her brother and daughter. SHAME on you Mr Paterson, how do you sleep at night? You have broken you Oath of Office to the people of these Isles, you should be made accountable for your actions.
THE EMPIRE OF “THE CITY”
The author of Empire of the City presents a behind the scenes look at the secretive international policies of the British government and how their past success allowed them to rise to the top of a vast secret order of World Finance. According to the author, he has pieced enough information together, presented in this book, which clearly shows that a colossal financial and political organization is run from an area of London called The City. Due to its power, The City is claimed to operate as a super-government of the world, and is said to play some kind of role or have influence in virtually every major world event. This book provides a birds-eye view of British international finance and how it really works, behind the scenes and hand-in-hand with various governments, political figures and financial organizations.
“This tiny area of a little over one square mile has in it the giant Bank of England, a privately owned institution; which as is further elaborated hereinafter is not subject to regulation by the British Parliament, and is in effect a sovereign world power. Within the City are located also the Stock Exchange and many institutions of world-wide scope. The City carries on its business of local government with a fanciful display of pompous medieval ceremony and with its officers attired in grotesque ancient costumes. Its voting power is vested in secret guilds with names of long extinct crafts such as the (livery) Mercers, Grocers, Fishmongers, Skinners, Vintners, etc. All this trivial pomp and absurdity and horse-play seems to serve very well to blind the eyes of the public to the big things going on behind the scenes; for the late Vincent Cartwright Vickers, once Deputy-Lieutenant of this City, a director of the great British armament firm of Vickers, Ltd., and a director of the Bank of England from 1910 to 1919, in his “Economic Tribulation” published 1940, lays the wars of the world on the door-step of the City.”

Victorious Battle Against GM
PERCY SCHMEISER – DAVID VERSUS MONSANTO
Imagine that a storm blows across your garden and that now, without your knowledge and without your consent, foreign and genetically-manipulated seeds are in your vegetable patch which you have nourished and maintained for many years. A few days later, representatives of a multi-national corporate group pay you a visit at home, demand that you surrender your vegetables – and simultaneously file a criminal complaint against you, resulting in a fine of € 20.000,00 for the illegal use of patented and genetically-manipulated seeds.
What’s more: The court finds for the corporate group!
Yet you fight back…
This short story is no utopia rather, around the world, the bitter truth. It is also the true experience of the family of Percy und Louise Schmeiser in Canada, also winners of the Alternative Nobel Prize, who meanwhile have been fighting the chemicals and seed manufacturer Monsanto since 1996. Nowadays, nearly three-fourths of genetically-manipulated plants harvested worldwide originate from Monsanto labs. Monsanto is a U.S.-based corporate group which calls dismal inventions such as DDT, PCB and Agent Orange its own. In its effort to gain absolute hegemony over plants – from the field all the way to the consumer’s plate – Monsanto knows no qualms. The farmers Troy Rush, David Runyon and Marc Loisell also learned the hard way what it means to be confronted with Monsanto’s methods of doing business, as did thousands of other farmers worldwide.
They and the Schmeisers are not just fighting against Monsanto and with that, for the continuation of their livelihood as farmers but also for the right to freedom of speech and the right to their property.
Yet above all, they are campaigning for the future of their children and grandchildren so that they, too, will have a chance to grow up in a world without genetically-manipulated food.
This film is reassuring.
Reassuring to all who fear that as an individual, no one would have any power to confront policymakers, large corporations or the business world.
“David vs. Monsanto” proves the opposite.
